Prof. Kashem made these observations while speaking as Chief Guest at a memorial meeting on the first death anniversary of labor leader and philanthropist Siddiqul Islam yesterday.
Hafez Ali Hossain Nishan started the program with recitation of the Quran while former president of Chittagong Lawyers Association and Acting President of Maulana Bhasani Foundation, Advocate Muhammad Kofil Uddin Chowdhury, and the general secretary of Maulana Bhasani Foundation, Birmuktijoddha Abdul Gaffar Khan, spoke as special guests.
Prominent journalist Zahidul Karim Kochi, Professor of Chittagong University and member of Maulana Bhasani Foundation’s advisory committee Amir Uddin, Bangladesh Welfare Party Standing Committee Member Mohammad Elias, Advocate Bhulan Lal Bhowmik, Professor Shiv Prasad Shur, Hasan. Maruf Rumi, farmer leader Md Yusuf, brave freedom fighter Master Shamsul Alam, FF Rezaul Hasan, FF Golam Kibria Babul, Master AKM Mofazzal Haider, Advocate Abu Taher, Shaheed Shimul, Captain Mubarak Hossain, FF Shakhawat Hossain Shanu also spoke on the occasion.
Later, leaders of Maulana Bhasani Foundation paid tribute by placing wreaths at the tomb of Siddiqul Islam at 10:30 am.
