
PV Online Report : Chittagong International Medical College Hospital (CIMCH) presented a memento for its special contribution in the treatment of Covid-19 by the Hon’ble Minister of Health of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Zahid Malek.
He presented the award for the significant role of the private medical college hospital in the treatment of covid held by the Bangladesh Private Medical College Association at the Oasis Hall of Sonarga Hotel on March 16.
The Minister in his speech said that under the strong leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has been able to play a very successful role in dealing with the worst epidemic of the 20th century, Covid-19. As a result, Bangladesh is ranked 5th in the world in controlling Covid. Bangladesh ranks third in Asia in terms of successful covid vaccinations. The Minister lauded the role played by private medical colleges in Covid treatment since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic in Bangladesh along with government hospitals.
The Minister also said that 64% of private medical college hospitals have contributed to the treatment of Covid-19 in Bangladesh. He presented mementos to a total of 23 private medical college hospitals in Bangladesh in recognition of their unique contribution in the treatment of Covid.
The Secretary of the Management Committee, Prof. Dr.Md. Muslim Uddin Sabuj, received this award on behalf of CIMCH. Chairman of the governing body of Chittagong International Medical College Prof. Md. Nurunnabi and CIMCH Deputy Director (Processing) Md. Ismail were also present.
It should be noted that the 500-bed hospital initially started providing medical services for Covid-19 patients through a dedicated unit. CIMCH has provided medical care to patients suffering from Covid-19 through oxygen plant, bi-pap machine, oxygen concentrator, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and a dedicated team of doctors, nurses and supporting staff.
