
PV Online Report : Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam said, “Bangabandhu is the name of a philosophy. That philosophy is non-conventional and humanitarian Bangladesh. His dream is to build a rich and prosperous golden Bengal. Bangabandhu was a protester and steadfast for justice in his childhood and youth. We have to spread the ideals and spirit of Bangabandhu among our children and teenagers. Currently child labor is seen in our society. They should be mainstreamed with educational opportunities. At the same time the dropout rate in schools and colleges should be reduced.The government’s vision of building a smart Bangladesh in 2041 must be implemented by the hands of today’s generation.”
He said these things in his speech at the discussion meeting titled “Bangabandhu’s birthday in the dream of smart Bangladesh, children’s eyes are colored in the dream of prosperity” organized on the occasion of the 103rd birthday of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day.
Chaired by Director of Student Welfare Prof. Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim, the special guests of the meeting was the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Professor Sunil Dhar, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Md. Professor Moinul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Technology Mohammad Mashiul Haq.
Earlier, a joyous rally was taken out in front of the vice chancellor office of the university at 9.00 am. The rally passed through the university’s goal square and circled various roads and ended at the Bangabandhu mural premises. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Alam, Dean, Registrar and Student Welfare Director of the University were present at this time. Apart from this, wreaths were also presented by CUET Bangabandhu Parishad and CUET Chhatra League. Other programs throughout the day included Essay Competition, Painting Competition, Special Doa Mahfil and Tabarak distribution for CUET students and campus children.
