He devoted himself to the work of creating enlightened people by spreading the light of knowledge in the then neglected, dark, backward society. He worked for the expansion of higher education in the area. Due to his tireless efforts, institutions of higher education from primary to degree have been established in South Kattali.
Dr. Fazlul-Hajera Degree College continues to bear the mark of his tireless work and outstanding contribution. He was a shining beacon in the development of education besides curing people of diseases through medical services.
He said these things as the chief guest in a memorial meeting of Dr. Fazlul-Hajera Degree College’s visionary, veteran physician, social worker and educationist Dr. Fazlul Amin on the occasion of his 47th death anniversaryorganized on the college grounds on Sunday (March 12) morning.
Chaired by Acting principal of the college, Swapan Kumar Nath, former registrar of Chittagong University Mohammad Shah Alam in his speech of the main speaker said, he was known as a friend of the poor. He chose Sevadharma as his life vow. His happiness was in the service of people. In return, he received the love of people, was recognized as a friend of mankind.
Dr. Md. Ariful Amin, the youngest son of late Dr. Fazlul Amin and president of the college governing body, expressed gratitude on behalf of the family. Welcome speech was given by Manoj Kumar Dev, Head of Department and Assistant Professor of English Department. Mohammad Alamgir Hossain, Assistant Professor of Accounting Department of the college and Tahmina Begum, Assistant Professor of Bangla Department also spoke at the memorial meeting.
Freedom fighter Md Zafar, freedom fighter Md Noor Mia, Councilor Professor Mohammad Ismail, Anwar Chowdhury, Nezamoudaula Chowdhury, Narayan Vaishnab, Narayan Mazumdar and Dr. Fazlul Amin’s son-in-law Faisal Amin etc. Poppi Saha, Lecturer of Economics Department of the college and Sharmina Akhter, Lecturer of Political Science Department, conducted the program.
In the commemorative meeting, prizes were distributed among the students who stood in the merit list in the final examination of the college.
