PV Online Report : In a case of vandalism and burning of vehicles in Chittagong’s Sitakunda in 2013, charges have been framed against 50 accused including BNP Central Joint Secretary General Aslam Chowdhury.

Charges were framed against the accused in this case in the court of the Seventh Additional District and Sessions Judge of Chittagong ASM Shahidullah Qaiser on Sunday.

Chittagong District PP Iftekhar Saimul Chowdhury told bdnews24.com, “The charge has been framed against the accused under Section 15(3) of the Special Powers Act of 1974. An accused named Yusuf has been acquitted of the case as he died.”

He also said that the testimony in this case will start from March 28.

On the night of November 8, 2013, in the Dhalipara area of ​​Sitakunda, the police filed a case against Aslam Chowdhury and the activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations at Sitakunda Police Station in connection with the vandalism, burning and blocking of vehicles on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway.

Aslam Chowdhury’s home is in Sitakunda of Chittagong and he was the leader of North District BNP at the time of the incident. The currently imprisoned leader is the central joint general secretary of BNP.
