PV Online Report :For almost three months, students have been protesting by locking the main gate of Chittagong University (CU) Fine Arts Institute to return to the main campus. Finally, the Minister of Education Dr. Deepu Moni opened the gate of the institute giving assurance of fulfilling the reasonable demands of the students.
She  called upon the students to return to class from tomorrow.

 

In this, the Minister of Education assured the students of a quick solution citing the rationale of this demand and urged them to return to class. However, several protesting students said that they are responding to the call of the Education Minister.

Earlier, Education Minister Dipu Moni held a meeting with the students of Chittagong University Fine Arts Institute to end the long two and a half months or 82 days deadlock. A meeting was held at Circuit House in the city on Saturday.

They told the media that in the meeting held at the Circuit House, the Minister of Education said, “The Ministry of Education has no authority to interfere in the transfer of fine arts.” As the university is an autonomous institution. The University Vice-Chancellor and the Supreme Council of the Institution will decide the Syndicate. Our only demand is to go back to the main campus. But the university authorities could not give any decision till now.
So our movement will continue until we return to the main campus. At this time, they announced to hold a sit-in program at the institute from 11 am to 2 pm every day.
