PV Online Report : A special team of RAB-7 Chittagong has recovered 99,000 pieces of yaba tablets worth about Tk 2.97 crore while smuggling yaba through CNG tank. At that time a drug dealer was arrested.

RAB-7 Senior Assistant Director (Media) said. Nurul Abshar said that a team of RAB-7 Chittagong set up a special check post at Balukhali Pan Bazar area under Ukhia police station after receiving information that some drug dealers were going to Ukhia from Kangbazar in a CNG taxi carrying huge quantity of drugs.

At this time, the movement of a CNG tank coming towards the RAB check post signaled to stop the CNG if it seemed suspicious. When the Taxi driver stopped the car in front of the RAB check post and tried to get down from Taxi, the RAB members chased the accused. Shah Alam (22) was arrested. He later recovered 99,000 Yaba tablets from his two shopping bags and confiscated them.

It is learned from the interrogation of the arrested accused that he has been collecting drugs from various drug dealers of Kangbazar district for a long time and selling them to drug dealers and drug users. The estimated value of the recovered drugs is 2 crore 98 lakh taka.
