PV Online Report : The BTV Chittagong Center started its journey on December 19, 1996 with the help of the present Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The center was set up to highlight the history, culture and culture of the region, including the three hill districts.

The establishment of a broadcaster in Chittagong in an attempt to present the diverse cultural heritage and history to the world was a long-standing demand of the people of the region. The center was then established in his context.
Since its inception, the center has been running for the first time in a short span of one and a half hours. Later, it was broadcasting 8 hours in 2016, 9 hours in 2019, 12 hours in 2020 and 18 hours from January 10, 2021. But the demand for the lives of the people of this region was to start broadcasting 24 hours a day. That demand was finally met on Sunday (December 19). BTV Chittagong Kendra has started broadcasting 24 hours a day through terrestrial and cable networks.

He inaugurated the 24-hour broadcast of the center through a video message recorded by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the 25th anniversary or silver jubilee of the center. At the same time, in a video message, the Prime Minister greeted the people of Chittagong region and hoped that the center would be able to meet the needs of the people of the region.

On this occasion, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Hassan Mahmud was the guest at the program organized at BTV Chittagong Center.

The ceremony was chaired by Maqbool HossainSecretary of the Ministry while State Minister for Education Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury, Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, BTV Director General Sohrab Hossain, GM of Chittagong Center Nitai Kumar Bhattacharya and others were spoke on the occasion.
