PV Sports Desk : Bangladesh Women’s cricket team wicketkeeper Shamima Sultana made a significant move of 60 spots in the ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings, which updated on May 20.

Shamima got the 81st spot to join with India’s Deepti Sharma, though Bangladesh suffered 0-3 sweep in T20Is on their tour of South Africa.

The host side registered comprehensive victories– by 17 runs, 32 runs and 23 runs in the three T20Is against Bangladesh. The series ended on Sunday with rain meant only a nine-over-a-side game was possible.

Though much lower down, Shamima’s 67 [12-50-5 runs in three games] saw her jump 60 spots.

The batting list continues to be headed by the Windies’ Stafanie Taylor, followed by Suzie Bates and Meg Lanning, the New Zealand and Australia captains respectively.

Rumana Ahmed, Fargana Hoque and Panna Ghosh were the prime movers among other Bangladesh players.

In the batting chart, Rumana’s 47 runs helped her move up to No.30, while Fargana Hoque, the team’s best batter in the series with 74 runs, moved up five spots to 38th place.

Panna Ghosh, an all-rounder was low in the order of batting, moved up 20 spots to No.72 among batters, two spots to be 36th among bowlers, and nine spots to be joint 41st among all-rounders.

She scored 24 runs in three outings without being dismissed even once and also picked up two wickets with her medium pace.

In the bowlers’ table, Khadija Tul Kubra remained the highest-ranked of the Bangladeshi bowlers at No.19 following her three wickets in the series while Rumana and Ghosh gained two spots to get to No.34 and No.36 respectively.

Following the end of the series, Sune Luus, Chloe Tryon, Shabnim Ismail and Ayabonga Khaka were the big gainers among South African players.
