PV Desk : A mobile court has fined 20 drivers and passengers for violating hygiene rules in public transport by conducting raids in several areas of the city.

The fine was handed down by a mobile court on Friday (July 3rd) morning after conducting raids at the city’s GEC and WASA intersections.

Chattogram District Administration Executive Magistrate  Umar Farooq led the campaign .

Magistrate Md. Umar Farooq told  that some public transports did not have hand sanitizer. The driver, assistant and passengers were not wearing masks. One person was supposed to sit in every two seats but some buses did not accept it.

He said some buses were being sanitized with just water. Which amounts to cheating with passengers. Ten public transport drivers were fined for not maintaining sanitation, using fake hand sanitizers, sanitizing with water and transporting extra passengers.

The executive magistrate also said that the mobile court fined 10 more people, including the driver and passengers, for having more passengers in private Noah cars and CNG. Source-Banglanews
