Chittagong Chamber Of Commerce & Industry (CCCI) has planned to set up four sample collection booths for corona virus tests at Chittagong Medical College & Hospital and three at different city points, concerned sources said.
President of CCCI, Mahbubul Alam in a letter to civil surgeon Dr. Sheikh Fazle Rabbi asked for necessary assistance in this regard.
In the letter, he mentioned that Chattogram next to capital Dhaka in importance is home to about 60 lac people who are at serious risk of contracting corona virus.
“ Though sample collection and tests are being conducted at Chattogram General Hospital, Chattogram Medical College & Hospital and Fauzderhat BITID, these facilities are quite inadequate in consideration of the population here” he said.
On condition of approval, CCCI will set up the sample collection booths with respect to health rules in a bid to reduce pressure from existing medical centers , Mr. Alam added in the letter.
“ This project side by side with government management will play an important role for which government assistance, rules and regulations, necessary equipments, kits, all-out cooperation and instructions for collection of relevant materials are essential “ he observed.
