PV Desk : Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said the reckless corruption of BNP and its mismanagement in governing the state had contributed to the 1/11 changeover in the country.

“Those who were trying to divert the course of politics into another direction were the beneficiaries of the 1/11 situation. A vested quarter is still out to demoralise the characters of politicians,” he said while addressing a book launching ceremony at Jatiya Press Club here.

Hasan unveiled the cover of the book titled ‘Amar Dekha One Eleven’, written by Prof Dr Syed Modasser Ali.

Speaking as the chief quest, he said martial law was proclaimed during the Pakistan era to divert the politics to another direction, while the politics and politicians were undermined publicly in Bangladesh during the 1/11 changeover.

“The then military-backed caretaker government had tried heart and soul to sustain its power,” he added.

Hasan, also the Awami League joint general secretary, said a vested quarter killed Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman after being failed to face him politically.

He said this quarter is now hatching intrigues against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the elder daughter of Bangabandhu, as it suffered a defeat to her political tactics and leadership.
