PV Desk : Bangladesh and India on Wednesday reached at a consensus on quick completion of Akhaura (Bangladesh)-Agartala (India) rail-road border connectivity to increase people-to-people communication of the two countries.
Visiting Bangladesh Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud and Indian External Affairs Minister Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar expressed the identical view when Dr Hasan made a courtesy call on him in New Delhi today, said a press release issued here this evening.
Both the ministers, during the meeting, vowed to enhance the existing excellent bilateral relations between the two neighbouring countries.
The Indian minister thanked Dr Hasan Mahmud for his relentless efforts in launching a broadcast exchange programme between Bangladeshi and Indian state-run radios, enabling audiences to listen to Bangladesh Betar and Akashvani radio in both the countries.
Jaishankar also expressed his satisfaction over the advancement of relations in mass media between Bangladesh and India.
