PV Sports Desk : Bangladesh Tigers emerged champions in the eight-team 13th Diversity Cup Cricket Tournament of North America beating India Blues by three wickets in the final held in Michigan recently.
Bangladesh Tigers reached the final eliminating Pakistan Green team in the semifinal.
In the final, India Blues batted first after winning the toss and scored 180 for 9 in stipulated 20 overs, despite losing three wickets for 15 runs.
Chasing a target of 181 runs, Bangladesh Tigers made a good start scoring 73 runs in 7 overs in the opening stand and finally scored the match-winning run for the loss of seven wickets with five more balls to spare.
Ali Imran contributed 55 runs off 28 balls while Syed Rasel made 55 runs off 26 balls, skipper Golam Afsar scored 22 runs off 13 balls and claimed four wickets to guide the team towards the victory.
Participating teams were: Bangladesh Tigers, India Blues, Pakistan Green, USA Star, Canada Maple Leaf, Sri Lanka Lion, USA Cricket Academy and Michigan Cricket Association.
