PV Desk : Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Tuesday laid emphasis on having sustainable politics and economy in the country disassociating with militancy and terrorism.

“Sustainable politics and sustainable economy – these two preconditions are must to continue progress,” he said while addressing a function arranged by the Economic Reporters Forum (ERF) at its office in the city.

The minister said militancy and terrorism will have to be kept out of power and politics for sustainable politics.

On the other hand, he said, the country will have to follow “inclusive economy” policy for making the economic growth sustainable.

The Information Minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has created a place for ‘trust, reliability and confidence’ the way Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had created the same based on which Bangladesh earned independence.

“We must remain engaged and keep chasing the goal. Success will surely come. Since we remained engaged and consistently chased for a goal our economy made a turnaround,” he said.

Inu said every effort must have a philosophy but they have no philosophies who believe in communalism, militancy, terrorism and who are pro-Pakistani.

He described various development efforts of the government and laid emphasis on further development from Chittagong to Cox’s Bazar for better economic growth.

Earlier, he formally launched ERF website (http://bangla.erfbd.com) and unveiled a members’ directory of the ERF.

Writers among the ERF members were also honoured for their recent publications.

ERF President Saif Islam Dilal, ERF Assistant General Secretary Rizvi Newaz and former ERF leaders, among others, spoke at the occasion.
