PV Desk : A man reportedly hacked three of his family members to death at Shonapadma village in Bera upazila of the district early Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Buli Begum, 35, wife of Mithu Sheikh of the village, her son Tushar, 10, and her sister Mariam Khatun, 50.
Additional superintendent of Bera Circle Ashish Bin Hassan told that Tuhin stabbed his mother Buli begum, brother and maternal aunt to death with a sharp weapon when they were sleeping around 4 am and fled the scene.
Police recovered the bodies in the morning and sent those to Pabna Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
Tuhin’s wife Runa Akter claimed that her husband was mentally sick.
Legal steps are being taken in this connection, Ashish added.
