PV Sports  Desk : Peru beat Australia 2-0 to finish third in Group C.

After two defeats, already eliminated Peru record their first victory in the 2018 World Cup. There is again no place in Australia’s starting line-up for veteran forward Tim Cahill, with coach Bert van Marwijk preferring Tomi Juric in attack for Tuesday’s World Cup Group C finale against Peru.

Juric, who plays his club football in Switzerland, starts in place of Andrew Nabbout, who is out with a shoulder injury.

That is the only change to the Socceroos team following their 1-1 draw with Denmark in Samara in their last game.

However, many Australian fans will be disappointed not to see Cahill, the 38-year-old who is his country’s record goal-scorer.

If he makes an appearance here at the Fisht Stadium in Sochi, a goal would allow him to join an elite club of players to have found the net in four different World Cups.

Australia must beat the South Americans by the Black Sea and hope Denmark lose against France at the same 1400 GMT kick-off in order to qualify for the last 16 for the first time since 2006.

Peru, who are already out, bring Anderson Santamaria into their defence in place of Alberto Rodriguez, who has been struggling for fitness.

Renato Tapia returns in midfield after not starting in the 1-0 loss against France, while Paolo Guerrero captains the side in attack with Jefferson Farfan out due to concussion.
