All Fatikchhari accused denied bail over death threat to PM

PV Desk : A Chittagong court accepted the time extension plea of BNP Central Vice Chairman Giasuddin Quader Chowdhury and directed him to surrender before the court on July 8, in a case filed over issuing a death threat to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Besides, the court rejected bail pleas of the BNP leaders accused in the same case.

Additional District & Sessions Judge Munshi Abdul Majid passed the order Sunday (June 24).

The court, however, didn’t pass any order regarding the time-seeking plea of Gias, BNP leaders’ lawyer also the secretary general of the district bar council Advocate Nazim Uddin told Banglanews.

“Six accused appeared before the court and pleaded bail. The court rejected the pleas and sent them to jail. The court also denied bail for other six accused who were arrested in the same case and are now in jail,” said Nazim.

However, time was sought in total four cases on behalf of Gias as he is ill, Nazim added.
