PV Desk : Police detained six suspected robbers, in a drive carried out at Polo Ground area under Kotwali thana in Chattogram city early Thursday (June 7).
The detainees were identified as—Mohammad Shahidul Islam Jishan, 23, Mohammad Khokon, 22, Robiul Hossain Mamun, 22, Mohammad Layek Hossain Hridoy, 20, Mohammad Ibrahim Khalilullah, 24 and Mohammad Junayed, 20.
A gun, daggers and cartridges were seized from their possession.
Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Mohsin told Banglanews that they conducted a drive on information that some 10-12 robbers were gathered near Polo Ground area of Tiger Pass, around 4:15am.
Afterwards, six of them were nabbed in the drive.
The detainees confessed that were gathered for rob the train passengers, said the OC.
Robbery and mugging are the only income source of them, added the OC.
