PV Desk : Jute mill workers are continuing their second-day strike in the district to press for nine-point demand including payment of due wage and allowance.

As a part of the demonstration, workers blockaded Rajshahi-Dhaka highway around 10:30 am on Wednesday (April 3).

Agitating workers were seen chanting slogans and lying on the road.

Vehicular movement was halted on both sides of the road for 20 minutes. Later, police reached the spot and dispersed them. Situations returned to normal.

“Everything is normal now,” Nibaron Chandra Barman, officer-in-charge of Katakhali Police Station under the metropolitan said
