PV Desk : The Election Commission has banned all types of rallies in the constituency from midnight on January 25 to midnight on January 29 ahead of the city corporation elections.
The directive was given in a public notification signed by the returning officer of the election on Thursday (January 21).
According to the 64 provisions of the Local Government City Election Rules 2010, all types of election campaigns including any meeting, procession or procession in the constituency will be closed for 32 hours before the start of polling, on the day of polling and 84 hours after polling.
Chittagong City Corporation election will be held on January 26. The election campaign started from January 8. Since the start of the campaign, more than 50 complaints of violation of the Electoral Code of Conduct have been lodged with the Election Commission.
