PV Desk : With the onset of winter, the second wave of corona virus began to hit. The number of corona cases is increasing at an alarming rate every day.
The Chattogram City Awami League has urged the city dwellers to give utmost importance to the use of masks and avoid public gatherings as soon as they leave the house to prevent the transmission of corona virus.
The call was made in a press statement signed by City Awami League acting president Mahtab Uddin Chowdhury and General Secretary and former city Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin on Tuesday (November 24th).
The statement said that the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has started a ‘No Mask, No Service’ program since last July to prevent corona virus infection. Various initiatives are being implemented by the concerned service organizations to ensure that everyone wears a mask outside the home. Multidimensional publicity campaigns are being conducted in various social media and mass media.
But even after so much, the use of masks was not 100% confirmed. The number of infected people is increasing every day, the fear of infection is increasing. In such a situation, the public should give utmost importance to the use of masks to prevent the injury of the second wave of corona. As soon as you leave the house, you have to wear a mask.
The statement further said that the Prime Minister has directed all the concerned service providers to take strict action from their respective positions to ensure 100 per cent use of masks. Therefore, to prevent the transmission of corona virus, the public should wear a mask when they go out of the house. Public gatherings should be avoided.
