Three along with huge yaba detained

PV Desk : In a separate 22-hour operation, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three persons from Gahira area of ​​Bakalia and Anwara upazilas of the city along with a large quantity of yaba. A total of 2 lakh 65 thousand 130 pieces of yaba have been recovered in the two operations.

This information was given by RAB on Tuesday (September 15).

The three arrested are- Anwara Upazila Raipur Chunnapara area Nurul Haque’s son. Kamruzzaman (30), son of Khuniapalang Rashid Ahmed of Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar district. Jamir Uddin (38) and Md. Nurul Haque’s son from Degardighi Baddarpar area of ​​the same upazila. Ramzan Ali (25).

Among them, RAB members detained Kamruzzaman from Anwara Gahira area along with 40,000 pieces of yaba. According to his information, 1 lakh 25 thousand 130 pieces of yaba were recovered from the house of another yaba trader.

Md. Zamir Uddin and Md. Ramzan Ali was detained by RAB members in front of Ahad Convention Center under Bakalia Police Station along with 1 lakh pieces of yaba.

These operations were conducted under the leadership of RAB-6 captain Lt. Colonel Md. Mashiur Rahman Jewel .

Lt. Colonel Md. Mashiur Rahman Jewel told  that three people including 2,65,130 pieces of yaba have been arrested in a raid in Anwar’s Gahira and Bakalia areas.

He said that the yaba traders of Anwara area brought these yaba by sea using various strategies. Realizing the opportunity, they sell these yaba in different parts of the country.

Kazi Mohammad Tareq Aziz, company commander in charge of RAB-8’s Chandgaon camp, told that Mohammad Zamir Uddin and Md. Ramzan Aliwas going to Dhaka by truck with yaba from Cox’s Bazar. They were detained on the basis of secret information. They have a total of 1 lakh pieces of yaba. The truck used to transport yaba has been seized.

RAB-7’s Assistant Superintendent of Police Mashkur Rahman told  that Kamruzzaman was detained along with 40,000 pieces of yaba in Anwara Gahira area. Foreign currency was also seized from him at that time. According to him, a total of 1 lakh 25 thousand 130 pieces of yaba were recovered from the house of another yaba trader.

RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) Mahmudul Hasan Mamun told the media that a case has been filed with Anwara and Bakalia police stations in the name of the arrested yaba traders. They have been handed over to the concerned police station.
