PV Online Report : Chittagong Divisional Health Director Hasan Shahriar Kabir said, many women in Bangladesh are suffering from fistula disease. Because the treatment of this disease is very complicated and expensive, women are in a very helpless condition.

They do not want to tell anyone about the disease. When the birth of a child with a fistula is interrupted, there is a constant flow of urine and feces through the delivery tract, spreading bad breath all the time. Many women’s families break up.

It is possible to get rid of fistulas in women through treatment. He said this while addressing a workshop titled ‘Obstetric Fistula Free Chittagong’ organized at the conference room of the Divisional Health Director’s Office on Monday. The workshop was organized by Hope Foundation, a non-governmental development organization. Ramu and Kutubdia of Kangbazar were declared fistula-free upazilas at the workshop.
