PV Online Report : Inflammation of the liver is called ‘Nash’ (non-alcoholic steatohepatitis) due to the accumulation of excess fat in the fatty liver. One of the main causes of fatty liver is eating habits and lifestyle. Obesity, not doing enough physical activity, poor eating habits are the main risks of this disease.
The speakers were speaking at a symposium titled ‘Stop Nash Now’ organized by the Liver Care Society on the occasion of ‘International Nash Day 2022’ at Radisson Blu in the city. At the same time, the speakers said that fast-food culture in our country is one of the reasons for the high prevalence of fatty liver.
In addition, people with diabetes, high blood pressure, hypothyroidism, excess fat or dyslipidemia, hepatitis C, and women with polycystic ovarian syndrome may also develop fatty liver. Long-term use of drugs such as corticosteroids, temoxifen, etc. can lead to fatty liver. Although the introduction of this disease is new, this ‘nash’ is now spreading in the form of epidemic all over the world. Nash is spreading in Bangladesh in the same way.
