PV Desk : Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) is banning public gatherings at entertainment centers in the city for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
The ban was announced by the CMP in a notification on Tuesday (July 26).
“Any major post-Eid rally centering on the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha will further exacerbate the current global corona virus outbreak,” the statement said.
Various directions and public awareness campaigns are underway from the highest echelons of the government to prevent its spread.
Considering the importance of the issue, in the public interest, the CMP Commissioner has banned the public from holding any gatherings in the recreation centers of the port city: Patenga Sea-Beach, Foy’s Lake and Naval Beach etc. after Eid.
CMP Additional Deputy Commissioner (Public Relations) Mirza Sayem Mahmud told banglanews that due to the corona virus, public gatherings at entertainment centers in the city have been banned due to the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. The ban was pre-issued. Yet the matter has been reminded again for the public.
He said legal action would be taken against anyone who violated the ban.
